Massive 16th century library table

A$0.00

5131 A massive 16th century Tuscan walnut and pine library table consisting of an enormous laminated pine top (originally covered with tapestry or leather) supported by four trestle supports, each with a pair of beautifully turned columns joined by a wavy stretcher and with sledge feet.

Circa 1550

Note: Apart from having lost its original tapestry covering to the top, this table is in extraordinary condition and has probably spent nearly all of its life in the library for which it was made, most likely a convent or monastery. The base in particular has a beautiful old surface crust.

431.5cm long
