Iris Koornstra
Dutch, born in 1969, graduated with Honours in BA Visual Arts from ECU in 2006. Iris is a locally practicing artist working principally in oil onto board or canvas as well as selectively using photography to ‘paint’ a picture. Previous works have been shown at Margaret River Art Gallery, Moores Building (Fremantle), PICA, Elements (formerly in Subiaco) and Spectrum Gallery (formerly in Highgate). After a long hiatus a new and concise body of work is presented here concerned with the paradigms of landscape, our place within landscape as well as our impact upon it. Iris is also one of our dearest friends and one of the brightest people you'll meet.
Jane Brans
Australian, born Perth 1973. Jane Brans is a creative visual artist based in Denmark on the South Coast of Western Australia. She currently works primarily as a painter in acrylics, inks and other media on canvas or board. Her work ranges from abstract to figurative with strong inspiration taken from the landscape and a high level of technical experimentation.
Ludovico della Rocca
Italian, born Naples 1954 and continues to live and work in Naples. His work is always figurative, usually in oil on board or oil on canvas with a strong palette of colours and sometimes a hint of the surreal in the composition. An old school career painter with excellent technical ability. He also cuts and makes all his own boards and knows where to find the world's best Mozzarella!
Rodolfo Meli
Italian, born Rignano sull'Arno 1948. Rodolfo Meli lives and works in the heart of Florence on the Arno river. His work is subtle and sensitive, with a colour palette referring back to Renaissance Florence.
His work often has a kind of theatrical atmosphere, a delicate palette of colours, and a soft texture. The references to classical antiquity are strong, but in a way that appeals to the contemporary eye.
