A$0.00
A rare 7th-9th century Chinese Tang Dynasty carved marble seated buddha. The robed Buddha seated in padmāsana (the lotus position) with right leg crossed over the left, right hand raised and left hand gently resting on his left knee. Seated on a stylised lotus flower and narrow waisted integrated plinth - a lotus throne. An old repair to the front of the lotus flower base in much darker stone. Note the finely carved parallel folds in his robe draped across the body to create a sense of calm movement in the sculpted form. Note also how crisp and fresh the areas beneath the throne remain where they have been protected from weathering.
