A$14,500.00

A fine quality pair of Japanese Meiji period bronze puppies, circa 1900. One sitting and resting partially on his font right paw as he looks nervously into his surroundings. The other reclined forward chewing on a piece of bamboo clasped under his left paw. Both finished with a combination of very smooth polished surface and areas of chiselled fur detail. Their eyes inlaid in Shakudo. Each one beautifully finished underneath and signed Ryōun, for Takahashi Ryōun. His works can be found in The Museum of the Japanese Imperial Collections, Tokyo.
