5213 A good quality 19th century George II style English carved and joined oak side chair, after a design attributed to Giles Grendy (1693 - 1780). The original design for this chair circa 1745 and more commonly found in walnut. While not a period chair, this is nonetheless a beautiful shape with the open stylised shell back and quite organic movement. It is also quite interesting to see this design produced in oak.
