A late 17th century Italian walnut cassetone.

A late 17th century Italian walnut and inlaid three drawer cassetone. Having a cavetto moulded rectangular walnut top with further ogee moulding beneath, before an arrangement of three drawers, each of similar size and design. Each drawer veneered in a panelled design and with large ogee moulding beneath, above the shaped bracket feet. The sides constructed with a single large moulded edged panel and conforming return mouldings.

Lovely rich colour and patina. Emilia Romagna, circa 1690.
