5912 A very fine quality early 19th century Italian neoclassical shell cameo, possibly by Constantin Rosler Franz, in original case and in untouched condition. Depicting a classical muse with lyre, leaning against a column. After Antonio Canova’s Terpsichore, Muse of Lyric Poetry, circa 1812, now in the Carnegie Museum of Art.

Rome, Circa 1820-40
