5293 A good pair of late 17th century Louis XIV walnut fauteuils retaining a 19th century crimson sculpted velvet upholstery. Each with a high rectangle back and square section seat joined by down-swept scrolling arms and with conforming scrolled legs, joined by shaped carved stretchers. With a deep rich patina, and of lovely slim proportions, this is a good period example of a pair of Louis XIV armchairs. Circa 1690
