5865 A fine quality Japanese Meiji period iron vase, inlaid with silver, gold, copper and other alloys. Decorated with a central panel of landscape on each flattened side, within a geometric key pattern border and with silver inlaid repeating geometric design partially decorating the shoulders and narrow sides. The neck with grape vine decoration. One panel depicting two koi swimming in a lily pond, the opposing side with a pair of birds in a wisteria vine. Signed beneath with engraved signature.
