5152 A superb quality Japanese Meiji period bronze group depicting two duelling Samurai warriors. Mounted to their original simple and elegant carved wood base, the base signed beneath. In excellent original condition, the eyes of the samurai inlaid with silver and shakudo and with very high quality after-cast punch work decoration. A wonderfully dynamic example of the very high quality metalwork produced in Meiji period Japan.
