A fine quality early 19th century Swedish ormolu, marble and porphyry centre table, circa 1825. Having a rectangular top with a slab of the most extraordinary marble set within an egg and dart type ormolu moulding. The top supported by a lyre shaped column with ionic capital, gadrooned base, trailing blossom and acanthus decoration, all above a plinth of Swedish porphyry and a further layer of the same marble used on the top.

This classically inspired small centre table is cast in numerous sections in bronze, beautifully finished and gilded and while there are several reference numbers within some of the castings, it does not appear to be signed. A highly refined and trés chic piece of furniture, it is as much an object of art as one of utility.
