Rare renaissance tripod table

Rare renaissance tripod table

5504 An extremely rare late 16th/early 17th century Italian walnut tripod based centre table. The top (including the dental frieze) cut from a single piece of walnut. The base of three wavy cut legs joined by stretchers. This is both an unusual form and also very rare to find a piece in such wonderful condition. Note how much the top has shrunk out of round and how much variation there is around the frieze.
